Zeke’s would have one big glass wall where he could look out over a misty mountain morning at elk in the meadow, while a fire crackles in the fireplace. His feet would be up as he sits in his chair with a cup of coffee and a book in his hand.
Zeke takes trust falls to the extreme – including rooftops.
Amy Freeman is a serial entrepreneur and provides fresh vision and foresight to new initiatives including outreach, branding, interior design as well as the real estate component at Root. She provides the backdrop and support to make much of what you see at Root happen. Amy Freeman currently hangs her real estate license under The K Company Realty. Since partnering with The K Company, Amy is not only able to help developers and individuals find land and/or existing homes, but she is also able to assist with putting together the entire project from beginning to end.
Design at the Art Institute of Dallas 04
Amy wants a modern home built with steel, concrete and glass set in the middle of 10 acres in the mountains. It would feature a glass lookout box that allowed for panoramic views. In addition to wood burning fireplaces, solar power, and an abundance of windows for natural light. As the only female in a house full of boys, Amy wants his and her bathrooms in her dream Master Suite. The “her” bathroom could only be accessed by a code that only Amy would know. Amy’s house wouldn’t be complete without a barn and a lot of animals.
Amy’s secret talent is top secret. If she told us, it wouldn’t be a secret anymore.
Seth is passionate about design and serving others, believing that architecture lies directly at the point where the two meet. From the technical to the abstract or the construction site to the computer, he has a strong interest in making sure each project meets its full potential while focusing on the client’s every need.
Seth loves that design and architecture have the ability to directly affect the behavior and well-being of its users (hopefully for the better). That idea gives him a sense that, by designing well, he can help create change for the betterment of people and society. It also can create order out of chaos, chaos out of order; sometimes all at the same time. To Seth, there’s a certain beauty to that.
When not doing architecture related things, Seth enjoys speaking Spanish, snowboarding, hiking, live music, watching and participating in almost any sport, and, of course, the occasional witty pun.

To design? One with an unlimited budget and no zoning codes. For himself? Seth enjoys residences that blur the line between interior and exterior. In the right climate, that type of house can be really special.
As much as he hesitated to share this … Seth can do a pretty mean impression of Gollum/Smeagol from Lord of the Rings.
Christian’s interest in architecture began at a very young age. He would watch his father, also an architect, and admire how easily he could handle a pen and sketch ideas and solutions. Christian loves the concept of taking a spatial problem or need, organizing it and yielding a clean drawing with a solution. He appreciates the idea that architecture is a trade that involves a creative process which produces an idea out of nothing in the brain and later manifests itself physically (provided the project is built).
Christian leads the Root Architecture and Development team in El Salvador. Christian says his work is influenced by his father’s functional style and Scandinavian design. When designing, Christian believes form follows function. Simply put, find the correct solution for the spaces needed and work on the form and look afterwards. Born in El Salvador, Christian is also half Danish and credits his connection to Denmark with influencing with design style preferences.
Outside of Root AD, Christian loves to be out in the wild and in the open air. He enjoys taking his kids camping and climbing mountains or volcanoes (El Salvador has a lot of volcanoes). Christian also loves spending time at the beach with his family. While relaxing, you can always find him reading.

Christian believes a house should reflect the people living inside of it. His personal choice would involve a minimalistic approach. He likens it to a mental state that requires very little to be satisfied and when the idea is externalized in a physical building, it yields a very simple and clean solution.
Christian is a very hands-on guy. He’s always wanted to understand how stuff works, so even as a child, he would open things up to learn. Most times, a few screws didn’t find their way back. As an adult, he still loves opening broken things and fixing them.
George worked throughout New York and New Jersey for over 20 years. Although it was an energetic environment and he is grateful for the opportunity he had to build his knowledge creating architectural designs, he is happy to make the Denver area his new home. George married a Colorado native and as his family grew they decided Colorado would be a wonderful and inspiring home to raise their children and evolve his career.
George’s areas of expertise include BIM, CAD and construction documents on residential projects. He enjoys problem solving and likes to find the limiting factors in a project and use them to an advantage or minimize their effect. George draws his inspiration from nature’s forms and sensual materials such as wood, natural stone and glass.
Outside of work, George enjoys spending time with his daughters, both teaching and having fun (George and his wife homeschool their children). He also enjoys drawing, astronomy, sci-fi novels, permaculture and bird watching.

An off-grid structure with natural forms made from natural materials you can’t help but touch every time you pass them. A permaculture garden outside and inside and perhaps an aquaponic system.
George can draw a map of the world free hand.

From start to finish, she loves the process of working with each variable (cost, materials, forms, environment, design, structure, client wishes and requirements) and delivering a product or proposal. Dulce believes passion is the key to good design. When she works on a project she puts her entire heart into it with equal measures of love and efficiency.
Dulce was born and raised in Guatemala and currently lives in El Salvador. She says her father is her role model. She admires his work ethic and positive attitude toward work and life and tries to follow in his footsteps. Outside of work, Dulce enjoys yoga, listening to music, going to the beach, painting and movies.

Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Braeden recently moved Denver to explore architectural work in the United States. He believes architecture represents the unique relationship between a place and the people who belong to that place. It is this relationship that brings about specific architecture and provides uniqueness to the built environment. To date, Braeden’s work has been influenced by New Zealand’s natural environment and he utilizes this for as a tool for design. His “work smarter, not harder” attitude to projects allows for confident design which reflects all aspects of clients’ needs and wants.
When out of the office, Braeden enjoys skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, and countless skype calls with family and friends back in New Zealand.
