Panoramic vistas and the authentic sense of freedom from the confines of urban living compel people to fully engage with the land and the seasonal changes in joyous and multifaceted ways. To fully appreciate nature and the nexus between the built environment and the surrounding landscape, Root designers focus on the “in-between” spaces connecting the architecture to the land and encouraged the use of covered walkways, porches and pedestrian paths. Paying close attention to where the sun is during all 4 seasons and where the best views are informs design from the start of the process.
